San Simon
The Industrial Gateway of the South
Our Beginnings
San Simon was founded in 1771 and named after its patron saint and the Spanish Governor-General Simon de Anda y Salazar. Historically, it was a quiet agricultural settlement along the Rio Grande de Pampanga. However, its destiny changed with the construction of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). Its strategic location as the first major stop in Pampanga for travelers from Manila transformed it into a primary industrial gateway. Over the last few decades, San Simon has become a magnet for heavy industry, logistics hubs, and manufacturing plants, providing thousands of jobs for the region.
Despite this industrial boom, the town has maintained its spiritual and social traditions. The Sta. Monica Parish serves as the cultural heart of the town, bridging the gap between its historical rural identity and its modern industrial future.
The San Simon Lifestyle
Life in San Simon is defined by the speed of commerce and the warmth of the community. It offers an 'industrial-suburban' lifestyle, making it a hub for logistics professionals and business owners. While the main highways are bustling with trucks and trade, the inner residential barangays remain peaceful and traditional. For the visitor, San Simon is the first taste of Kapampangan hospitality, offering a convenient stop for travelers and a booming business landscape that signals the province’s economic vitality. It is an ideal spot for those who want a simple lifestyle with high economic connectivity.
